A Brief History of Arlington Forest UMC

Arlington Forest United Methodist Church has been deeply rooted in its increasingly diverse central Arlington neighborhood since the church's founding during World War II. While members now come from throughout Northern Virginia, the church retains strong ties to the surrounding community.

The original church building was erected in 1943 and was substantially enlarged in 1953 and again in 1960. Classrooms, offices, two social halls, a children's library, an adult library and excellent music facilities support an array of worship, study and service activities.

We are pleased to welcome many visitors throughout the year in our worship, educational and outreach ministries.
